Safe Projects. Safe People. Safe Future.

Powering Safety: Celebrating 10 Years of Safety Week at Gordian Energy Systems

A Decade of Putting Safety First

At Gordian Energy Systems, we’re in the business of building energy infrastructure that powers communities, schools, businesses, and organizations for decades to come. But before a solar panel is installed or a system is energized, one priority comes first: the safety of our people.

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 10th Annual Safety Week, recognizing a decade of dedicated focus on strengthening our safety culture and reinforcing the values that protect our teams every day.

Why Safety Week Matters

The work we perform presents unique challenges. From electrical hazards and heavy equipment operation to elevated work surfaces and extreme weather conditions, every project requires careful planning and constant awareness.

That’s why, each year following the Fourth of July holiday, our teams pause to refocus on the practices, procedures, and conversations that help keep everyone safe. Safety Week serves as a dedicated opportunity to reinforce training, share lessons learned, recognize safe behaviors, and ensure safety remains at the center of every project decision.

Building a Culture of Accountability

Safety Week was introduced in 2016 as part of a broader commitment to strengthening our company’s safety culture during the busiest part of the construction season.

Ten years later, that commitment remains stronger than ever.

Through ongoing training, jobsite inspections, safety innovations, and employee involvement, we’ve built a culture where every team member has the authority and responsibility to identify hazards, ask questions, and speak up when something doesn’t look right.

Safety is not owned by one department. It belongs to all of us.

What Safety Week Looks Like

Throughout the week, our teams participate in a variety of activities designed to reinforce safe work practices and encourage meaningful discussions about jobsite safety.

Daily Safety Meetings

Crews begin each day by reviewing safety topics relevant to their work, discussing project-specific conditions, and addressing potential hazards before work begins.

Enhanced Jobsite Reviews

Operations and project leaders perform additional safety observations and inspections throughout the week, reinforcing best practices and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Focused Training Topics

Each day highlights a different area of safety, including fall protection, electrical awareness, heat stress prevention, personal protective equipment, equipment operation, and situational awareness.

Safety Gear That Makes a Difference

A longstanding Safety Week tradition includes providing employees with practical safety-focused gear. These items serve as daily reminders that safe habits extend beyond the jobsite and into our everyday lives.

Lunch with Leadership

One of the most anticipated parts of Safety Week is the opportunity for crews to connect with company leadership over lunch. These visits provide a chance to recognize employees’ hard work, thank them for their commitment to safety, and strengthen relationships across the organization.

Safety in Solar

As the renewable energy industry continues to grow, so does the responsibility to ensure projects are completed safely and professionally.

Our customers trust us to deliver clean energy solutions that will perform for decades. That trust starts with protecting the people building those systems.

Whether we’re installing rooftop solar, supporting battery storage projects, or developing large-scale energy infrastructure, our commitment is the same: no schedule, milestone, or deadline is more important than the well-being of our team.

More Than a Week

While Safety Week is an important annual tradition, safety is not limited to five days on the calendar.

It is part of every pre-task plan, every toolbox talk, every site inspection, and every conversation about how work gets done. It’s a mindset that guides our decisions and helps ensure every employee returns home safely each day.

As we celebrate our 10th Annual Safety Week, we thank our employees, partners, and subcontractors for making safety a shared responsibility. Together, we’re building more than solar projects and energy infrastructure; we’re building a culture where safety powers everything we do.
